Well, the show is ending with rain and wind! Only a few more hours to go.
My hat off to you, Grant, for presenting such a perfect collection of bonsai to so many thousands, while keeping an even temper and a smile, notwithstanding a lot of organisational work (hiccups included) and the inclement weather. Plus all the other tiresome things that most of us are unaware of!
It was good to see that the great majority of visitors were so interested.
I hope you have a very pleasant and relaxing bit of holiday coming up.
Lisa

I won't appologise for the background as it is what thousands of people see and don't seem to mind. However if I am able I will take a photo before it goes home.
It still has a few weeks of flowering to go so its owner will be the only one to see it in full flower this year due to the cold weather.
Enjoy

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for posting the pictures - apart from the trees which are magnificent, the thing I liked most about this is the young fellas who are (probably begrudgingly) accompanying parents, but yet appear fascinated by the trees. The young guy on the left appears to be looking closely at the nebari....The future of Aussie bonsia isnt the trees, it is the young people who will take the challenge on.
I REALLY liked this photo
Congratulations Grant - I look forward to the day that I get to see the collection.
Regards
Steve

Thanks Lisa,
It will be good to be sleeping back in my own bed and not in the office. (tee hee)
Except for the weather everything went quite well I thought.
Hats off to the volunteers, Donors and Lenders.

Thanks, Steven. I really got a kick of watching the kids and sometimes talking with them. Yes, a few couldn't wait to get out again, but many were quite interested. They liked being told about the Japanese black pine which is the King of Bonsai, and the Japanese white pine which is the Queen. And about the "Mother and Child" style tree, and the small Korean fir which is just like a tree out there in the wild. And so on. The pair on the photo spent quite a long time at the collection, and they were just gorgeous.

...and not to have to listen to the deafening pop music that makes the walls of the cottage vibrate!
The sacrifices one has to make as Curator - just as well it's only one month in the year.
You did a fab. job.
Lisa
