Hmm sounds tasty.. Fish emulsion I come across this quite regularly though never know exactly what it is? Like some kind of fish extract??
Smashed fish !!!20ml to 9ltr is this on the lighter side or heavier side of fertilizing.. I think I should stick to numbers as I get carried away thinking that the dose isn't strong enough ?

why do you do this (.. learning caps on)
This is used to fertalise lawns, it is very high in nitrogen. It gives health, vigor and great colour. ( if used carefully ) Get cocky with this one and burnsville !!! Your pine goes to heavan !!!

Hi guys,
Google "EC Meter". One of these will help a fair bit if you are making your own fertilisers and are worried about over doing the dose.
Cheers,

Hey Sid, this time of the year, this year,I am making up a brew or 1part fish emulsion, 1p worm juice, 1p plant starter and then add the total of these in seasol. I then use 20ml of this brew per a 9 lt watering can and water thoroughly once a week...I use this brew on all my trees on this frequency.
With the pines twice a year i sprinkle 1 to 3 pinches of ammonia of sulphate over the soil surface and water in... Beginning of Autumn and middle of Spring. One needs to take alot of care when using this product, too much and things can go wrong. You need to feel confident with the amount you use per size of pot. In this size pot here i may use 3 pinches between my thumb and forfinger and sprinkle like salt. You just want a random coverage around the pot. Safer to do sparingly than otherwise.
Thanks for the insight into your fertilising regime Ant

Ill be giving this a go throughout the growing season

Fantastic looking trees Antonio, I was wandering at what age does the bark darken up on JBP's and are there any other factors like climate that make a difference?

Thanks Carlitos !!! This tree is now approx 15 yrs old. I believe hot temps and sun exposure may fissure the bark more so, how ever i dont say that as gospel .
Thanks Ellias !!!

It's maturing very nicely since you first posted it 4 years ago Antonio.
You seem to have the knack of balancing the energy too. Nice even growth all over the tree

Steven
