Congratulations Skippy, looks like everyone had a great day. I too am impressed by your collection, dissapointed that it was too far away.
Pleased to see that the combination of alcohol and power tools caused no mishaps. I do not worry about this as I don't touch the stuff (power tools)
It was also nice to make a couple more connections (forum members whom I have met)
Bodhi : I am liking the idea of a Vic day
Regards Gerard

I would just like to echo Steven's sentiments - what a fantastic day. I had a ball carving for hours, but the best part was all the good vibes around the day. Skip's hospitality is first class - politically correct talk (politically incorrect translation - Skip shouted lunch and a few beers {after the power tools were turned off}, and also I got a couple of travellers for the trip home) and as a bonus I was picked up and drop home. But seriously it was a great day, some good trees of the future, some good friends and a very good learning experience. The generousity of Skip and his family are to be congratulated, and it was all done for the good on bonsai.
Thanks.

Hi All
The day was great, & I thank you all for the kind words & a special thanks to those allowed me the plesure of their company. A really big thaks to my beautiful wife Rita, for without her support this day would not have work quiet as well as it did.
Steven & I have had a few words about possibly making this an anual event, still just a thought, we will let you know.
If you Vic guys do decide to have a get together there better be an invite sent north with plenty of notice so that i can get one of those cheap flights.
Anyone that would like to stop in for a chat & a beer send me a PM.
Cheers
Skip

A super initiative, Skip! And a great realisation too. I enjoyed the photos, thank you Steven and Deadwood. Compliments on your bonsai, Skip! With knobs on and bells ringing. I loved all the movement and style variety in your trees.
Have a great festive season and another prosperous new bonsai year in 2010!

Sorry for the delay in posting but here are shots of a couple of the trees I worked on under the tutorship of Chris.
First was a collected Buxus;

Then I got to work on a collected Prunus;

Both trees will need further refinement but I think I will leave it until Skips next BBQ

Steven

Hey Skip
I believe Clinton from the School of Bonsai has approached you re having a carving workshop the Ray nursery?
is this arranged and if so when

Do you need a hand organising it

( or to push it along?)
