Antonio that last one is a ripper!!
Looks like you will also get to do some of your carving down the track too :tu2:
I have wanted to collect a Hawthorn for a while now but I can't find them in my local area.
I will collect some next year as I have been told of a few spots but it will take a bit of a drive to get there...lazy I know, but I am all collected out this season! Sorry.
I will follow this thread and look forward to seeing more recently collected Hawthorns from members.
Nice tree Busta!
Cheers, Dario.

Mate 4 in one week each one taking up to 4hrs to get in the car

Matt nice trunk and powering on !!! but im worried you cut the wrong apex off from that first pic. The other trunk snaked to the right again instead of straight up :?:

Dario i know what its like to be all dug out  im wrecked at the moment :o Leroy and aphro made it back in one trip but the next 2 are bign's and they had to come back one at a time. So 3 trips all up, a hour there and an hour back. Oh yes there is lots of carving to come but im afraid the dremel wont cut it here. Have to invest in a die grinder next year !!! Any how soldier on fellows !!! :hooray: :tu:

Ant - finally got time to post a pic. Now I know its all about size mostly, but after digging quite a few Hawthorn I now look for subjects with a bit of movement in the trunk, especially low down. These naturally grow straight so to find one (or two) with movement is the key.
So I will start with this one, dug this year and has a base of approx. 150mm.
