Makes a great bonsai after a few years of growing. It is important to keep trimming the long shoots that try to ground layer all through the summer - if you allow these to establish the main tree will suffer and weaken. Old bonsai of these have interesting ramification that looks good in the winter too.

Thanks Matt. It took a great deal of persuasion to get it into this pot.

It'll be interesting to see how this ramifies. I certainly won't be letting the shoots grow so long again.

That is lovely. Can you post again when the leaves fall so that we can see the bones? I'm also curious about that gum in the background...
