Grant,
I have serious Tardis envy. How hard was it to line the shed with the wooden panels (I am considering doing the same to mine).
I like either the cream pot or the Petra Engelke one.

I first inserted foam underfloor type insulation snuggly against the walls and roof and then attached the 9mm ply over the insulation and then screwed them to the metal pillars of the walls first and then the roof. Then finished it off with beading.

have you considered that rh branch pointing upwards being the new leaderand the rest airlayered?

The first rule of Tardis is; You don't talk about Tardis! The second rule has something to do with time travel and not being allowed to cross your own time path. So no you can't correct your own mistakes. (Wish I could). Is there a Doctor in the house?

But then rules were meant to be broken.

it is a consideration if i don't like how it turns out with this approach.

The tree is budding back like crazy and there should be lots of new branches to see in about 6 to 7 weeks when I do a second defoliation.

I am using my standard mix at the moment both at home and at the collection..

40% Diatomite, 20% Gravel/Zeolite, 20% Pine Bark Mini Nuggets and 20% Coconut Fibre.

As I use it on more trees my experience will grow and I will find out if I need to alter the mix slightly to suit different trees; but so far so good.

Any chance on an update of this tree? Has it put on a nice show of Autumn colour? Also can you tell, or do you know if it has been chopped and a new leader selected for taper prior to you getting it? If so how many times?

No colour yet on it in my yard even though it is quite cold. The tree was repotted last spring so it will not colour early.

Re Taper I imagine it would have had a few trims over the years but as to how many and when I don't know.

Update.

The Maple has put on a little bit of ramification this year but it is a bit slow.
After a little bit more growth during summer and autumn I might do a light thin out and light wire with aluminium in winter.
