I've just gotten back from Merrylands and ladies and gentlemen... you are in for a treat!
Over 100 high quality trees from all over Sydney. Jonden and the team have done a splendid job organising and setting up and Merrylands RSL have been exemplary hosts. I'm not going to spoil the show by posting the pictures yet but I will in a couple of days. If you take pictures please don't post them. Courtesy of Hard1all, I have high quality shots of all the trees and stones as well as 360's of some. Just for a teaser, here is a sample of the advertising around the club and area;

There are demonstrations thorough the weekend and there is plenty of seating available;

There are some little trees and some big ones on display;

If you have some spare time, I highly recommend getting along to

I went to the Show today and I must say there are some spectacular trees to see and for a free admission price. A true bargain at that price.

I was half listening in as I was semi working the Bonsai workshop tables at the time ( was on all morning which was good fun

)
Chris had most in the audience listening attentively and was doing a great job too on a good stock tree
It is really great to see so many quality trees in the same place
Congrats to the organises and al the Vollies that make it happen

Thanks For taking all these Steven and thanks for posting them too
a question or 2 for thos that may be able to answer, The placement of the Soe on a few of the trees I would have expected on the other side of the tree from where they are in the pics. Can anyone elaborate on why they were placed as they are?
Specifically picture number
1366 - Maple

Hi Ken,
Tremendous effort by Steven I agree. I couldn't do that I would get too sidetracked. Great Show.
I also would like to hear about the soes. But bear in mind many like me haven't got time for the pesky little things; and I rely on the someone else who will. Which is a dreadful attitude I know, not exactly a recipe for harmony. However this is what you get when the available ones are just scattered around for additional decoration. Don't knock the organisers, I'm flagellating myself for my default.
Regards, AnneK
Ken

Hi Anne
I am not knocking the organisers at all, just curious as to why
were they a mistake and never got around to fixing, or were they intentional? If so then why ?
After seeing the videos from Ryan Neal a few weeks ago and his display Critique, I have been paying a little more attention
I would also assume, that for the Premier Bonsai display in Sydney that each of the owners would have an appropriate Soe for each tree they enter ?
