Good luck ... in the end it is your decision and balancing all the advice can sometimes create more questions than answers!

Get the little bastards!! I use 'Fix Ant' Granular for the control of ants. It is often not easy to find but you want to look for the active constituent CHLORPHYRIFOS. I sprinkle it on the soil and water it in. Ants GONE. No Probs!!! I have had two trees with major ant infestations and this stuff cleared them out overnight. And the trees never showed any signs of stress.
