Im not sure whats going on but we have had 4 nights in the past week under 5 degress here. It will stay under 10 at night for another week at least and wont get over 30 they reckon

one of my creepers ( virgina maybe?) has started to turn in patches. Last year this was amazing as it goes along my whole front fence and was a scartlet red. I also have a bosten ivy thinking about turning

today i noticed on of my japanese maples getting a little colour on the outer edges too. strange

similar things are happening here..although I think we have only had lows of 9 or so. We are expecting a top of 30 in the next few days however. I think its time to bring the ficus in!

First colours starting to show up here too but only on trees that have not been pinched much. Most are too busy putting out fresh growth to make colour. I suppose I should take down the shadecloth next week to let some more light in.

Same in the Central highlands. Ashes are starting to turn, a Rowen is completely confused, changed colour and dropped its leaves and is now pushing new buds. Golden Ash is also starting to turn.

Just mowed the lawn and noticed that growth has definitely slowed down despite the wet weather, humidity and occasional hot day. That's not a bad thing!

all, I was just about to post a similar query, my Swamp Cypress and my Liquidambars are starting to turn yellow and drop their leaves, I was wondering

if anyone else in Sunny / Wet Queensland in particular S.E. Qld are finding the same thing,

, not a good sign .... means a long cold winter ...maybe.

After 27 days, where the temperature did not drop below 30 and night temps above 20 for 17 days last night was only 19.5. We are now as the calender tells us officially in Autumn.
That is a record, the most since records began, for both day and night temps.
With March regularly getting 1 or 3 days above 40, we are still not out of the woods I have had some leaf burn and some trees with sun scorched trunks.
So if you have any cool weather or rain you want to share with us over here, we will gladly take it. Our weather forecast for Saturday is rain HaaHaa.
Collingwood are coming to play so maybe Eddie is God after all
Cheers Pup

Not much evidence of autumn here except the acer japonicum garden tree is staring a turn a bit but its always the first tree to loose its leaves. The deciduous bonsai are all still growing like mad. If your trees are starting to turn its probably because you haven't been feeding them enough. We have had plenty of nights in single digits this month and the day temps have been well below 20, on wednesday we had a max of 13.
