The flood victims of Queensland are going to need cash......lots of it. State and Federal Governments will give a bit of initial relief in the form of Disaster Recovery Payments, but that is only a short term fix and they will be providing beuracratic red tape by the truckload as rebuilding commences, slowing the whole process down.

After the 2009 bushfires the Australian public donated something in the order of $400 million.

We need to think beyond our bonsai mates, extend our generosity to the thousands of Queenslanders who face serious hardship, both financial and emotional.

Give a few bucks, whatever you can spare, lean on your mates to do the same, give up an hours pay, challenge your boss to write a cheque.

There is plenty of water here and the worst will come tomorrow. I am dry, but helped someone move out today and there house would now be under water.

OMG there is a BIG salty croc in Brisbane park.

I saw a croc swimming in the newly flood designed 'waterholes' by the back of the golf coarse when on my afternoon walk today.

Please be generous when the time comes we have had offers of distribution points, but at this moment in time. We do not need them, but we need all Australians and our overseas members, to contribute by going to the local areas for DONATIONS of money.

Hi All

Spent the lsat couple of days helping with flood clean up at my boys footy club Brothers Saint Brendans at Rocklea, one of the worst affected suburbs. Absolutely devastating what water can do. The mud and the smell were horendous. Up to 3000 homes affected in the Rocklea area alone, many to up to the roof. Saints was 1 metre over the second floor.

The community spirit in the area and Brisbane is nothing short of amazing, and totally inspirational. At over $80 million and rising in donations it is fantastic support from Aussies and great to have the support of the nation behind us.

We live in a great country with even better people
