Just bare rooted my elms???

after thinking i did a bad thing at the wrong time of year my elms are better than ever buds all over the place they have alot of vigour which is great,today i will put them out into full sun so they can grow even more....very happy

Is there a file womewhere where all species are listed and when to bare root, when to prune, when to repot etc? I was given a sort of a table from the local bonsai club, but I find it confusing and it doesn't have many of the plants I have.

I am trying to do just that with all of my trees
I am building a spreadsheet with all that sort of info and If I ever remember to update it frequently I will get there

What about if you had a tree, in my case an English elm & a juniper that is not growing with much vigor? would you make an exception and bare root now?
With my English elm for eg, I think the cause is the soil, its quite hard packed and water takes longer than other trees for it to soak in, I did intend to repot during early spring but never quite got around to it?
Going by peoples comments, if a tree is already lacking vigor then it would probably fine and maybe beneficial to bare root now?

I would not bare root now on a deciduous tree.
If it was not doing good, I would slip pot to a larger size and just tease out the outside edges of the root ball and then do a weekly (or maybe more often)Soak the pot job to ensure water penetrates the main root mass whil allowing the new roots to populate the new soil

Hi.

Well time, is what i am finding out to be the factor here. Being a new person this formant is great, i to have a Chines Elm my only Bonsai. Think i know much more than i did last week about it.
