It is common practice to use only one variety but:-

Hi all,
I just got home last night after a couple of weeks holiday out west along the Murray river(in flood) and also got to Broken Hill(very green after 19inches of rain instead of the average 4 inches per year).
On the way we passed a mixed forest of green and blue Callitris on red sand dunes and sometimes the two types were growing side by side so close that of they weren't different colours you would have assumed they were a twin trunk.
I might try some together in a group as I have some already. (I of course harvested a small amount of seed as well).

I have done this deliberately on this group of Maples totally for Autumn colour. This is the Spring foliage, but in Autumn the larger trees go vivid red and the background becomes orange yellow . For discussion..i know trees of a totally different species should not really be grouped together,but i have seen this done, but can different hybrids of the same species be grouped together. E.G junipers Sargentii and, say, Squamata. E.G Chinese Elms and corky bark elms. It does occur in Nature as i have seen it. We definitely get different Euc's in Australia. What think you all
I would love to see some photos of this group in the autumn colours you were referring too. Hopefully you have some??

This group has been broken up and the pot has been utilised for a far superior setting of more established trees (Maples)
I repotted this group into a smaller pot taking out the back setting and it is now for sale in the Nursery as a seven tree setting.
