Windswept Celtis

Good drawing Peter but I don't feel that this is the direction for this tree. The strong branch on the left (nore the trunk for that matter) does not indicate to me that this tree has lived a life of constant buffeting by the wind blowing from the left but more a tree that has grown under normal conditions but there is a strong wind blowing from the left today. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks Jon, yes it does make sense but only constant wind will make the thicker limbs change direction as this one has. If its windy TODAY then only the finer branches will be changing in direction with the wind. By the look of the tree, if the wind stops blowing, those branches are not going to come back down to horizontal.

Very similar to a tree by Robert Steven. I'm still coming to grips with this particular style.
I had some reservations about how Robert Steven portrayed his tree, too.

I'm sure it's a valid style, as I've seen willows styled this way but I guess I'll have to wait for it to grow on me.

Ok Peter, you want to know something funny? I just downloaded that .pdf and guess what, it is upside down! Having never downloaded an Australian .pdf before I wonder, "Is this normal"? Then I started to wonder if your toilets flush backwards.

What....yours dont! It looked fine to me.....i did notice though, after i finished reading it all the blood had rushed to my head, so i just got back up on my hind legs and had to stand upright for awhile!

Heres another windswept design, this one is a friends tree, it is a trident maple.

Is that understandable as a windswept style, whats your thoughts. Obviously it hasnt been in training for 50 years but as far as the initial styling goes, is it a windswept?

Peter, while all of the branches are on one side of the tree and are relatively straight, it is not convincing to me due to the direction of the trunk at around half way going against the wind. to me this just doesn't work.
