There's not much you can do with them yet other then discussing future options. We have to wait till Spring.

Fair enough. Be interesting to see the stuff for sale, especially if this one is a small one!! Pity they would have to be fumigated and half - if not totally killed just to get them into W.A.

Just imagine what they would look like if they had been grown with bonsai in mind and resticted to one trunk!!! The mind boggles

Looks like guaranteed to give great trunk height ratio!!!... Hi Chris, is there any with older trunks + movement as well ? Or are they all like this, Just big narly feet ?

The dandenong ranges are full of old azaleas mostly kurume. The deep acid top soil here suits them well. the biggest problem is to find them on one trunk, mostly they are multiple trunk and no taper plants, and then to convince the owner they need to part with them. The most common cultivar is christmas cheer which is about as hot pink as an azalea comes in.

Hi Craig,
Christmas cheer is a good one for bonsai because of the tiny flowers and leaves. They use it alot in america i believe. As you say not so too subtle a flower colour though

Hi Neal, yes I have a couple here and will post some pics of them when they flower, get your sun glasses out. Theres another one I see around a lot which has really tiny leaves and thumbnail size hose in hose flowers do you know what this one is called ?

Great I look for ward to the pics, as for the ID, sorry nothing springs to mind. 'Kirin' is a very common hose in hose here, light pink flowers but not that tiny. Maybe take a sample to the local nursey or try semding a photo to Arthur.

Chris what time are demos?

nice stock to start with, may i ask how much this kind of stock will be selling for?

More Azaleas have been dug up. Come and check them out.
