As you know it takes about 4 people to slide it sideways and 6 people to repot it; plus an hydraulic trolley or two and heavy duty turntable.

Why do you think I gave it away.

Do you have the necessary equipment in the NBPCA? I had wondered why someone would give such a spectacular group planting - now I THINK I understand.

Glenda
Yes we have two hydraulic trolleys that can carry 300kg. One is fitted with a forklift attachment and most of the large trees are on wooden trays that can be lifted by the forklift.

Have a look at the "photographing teds angophora " thread and you will see the machinery in operation. See below

The Catlin Elm, Trident Maple, and Japanese Maple have just started to show signs of changing colour.

Grant's wife Margaret took a walk around the park the other day and thought it would be a good idea to share some of her pictures. So, when you get bored with the bonsai at your next NBPCA visit ( :o ) you could take a walk around Commonwealth Park!
Check out the knees on the taxodium's!

Thanks Regan. You will just have to move to Canberra! Canberra is a beautiful place at this time of year. The mornings are a little fresh, but stunning sunny days. We have a lot of hot air balloon activity around Canberra at this time of year. I took a ride a few years back and it was so peaceful floating over the autumn colours of Canberra,

Hi Jamie,

Those stumpy things are called "knees" the tree throws them up from its roots. Cool huh?!

Hi Pup,

Thanks for the kind words! It just goes to show how good your trees can look when you have someone fussing over them all the time! A good case for those that have a collection too large to handle! I am keen to get my collection down to a manageable number so that they are better kept.

Cheers,
Leigh.

I have a feeling that Grant will be putting dibs on trees this weekend when he is here. He has already thrown out some hints
