I am another thats says chop it at the first branch but when you do take the cutting and dip it in some rooting hormone powder and pop it in a pot. this will give you a second plant to grow on

hi Andrew can i buy that powder from Tess do i just use a normal saw or is there a special way to cut it

steve, bunnings has hormone gels and powders, and most nurseries should have it in some for or another. as for the cut a saw should be fine, just make it as clean as possible. a fine tooth saw might not be as quick but will give a cleaner cut, this will give a better root spread when it strikes, also cut a 45 degree chamfer around the base of the cutting, this will help the root spread emerge nicely too
