The lower branch was losing vigour so the pot has been bound up with mesh over the top so it can rest on its side. Since doing so it has regained colour & is starting to swell new buds again.

:bump:

Gavin, this is the little plum you liked so much, it is the original tree's apex.. only 5" remains of the original 18", atleast it is the best part :D

Now the last leaves have fallen I can spend some time working on some of the fine detail work it needs to bring it along, updated pics when I have something to show.

Slipped this out of its pot & wrapped with clingfilm then set to work with the dremel :D

Thats the deadwood at the base sorted, now to reduce the knuckle on the first branch.

Its been slipped back into its plastic pot & will be given another year of growing before heading to its final pot (hopefully by then I will have fired it)

Gave this one a quick slip pot with minimal root disturbance, just wanted to be able to see the tree better. I decided to shorten the 2nd branch & it gave me 2 new buds, 1 right where needed to redirect the line, the other has been removed already.

Thanks Dario, its the feel I had wanted but in a much smaller tree, it is definitely one of my faves. The only let down was no flowers this year :(

The garden is coming along well, I have been on a weeding blitz of late and also planting out more trees to grow on. Will PM you over the weekend :)

The deadwood is also starting to get a nice silver tone, the benefits of growing in full sun.

An Antonio pot
I like it but think it might be a bit small for my bench, could be workable in display. If this is one of yours, lets see some more :tu:
