I read that thread this afternoon too.

IMO there's some great info posted in the earlier years of Ausbonsai.

P.S. In your link, Pup also attached a link to a big sale he was conducting at that time. He had many beautiful Bonsai.

This seems like the basis for a good movie.

You will the best bonsai to your children.
If they keep them alive for a year or so, they get a certain amount of money as each year goes on. After a while, they start to lose a few bonsai along the way and feel the loss of the parent more, whilst learning about nature …. perhaps in the end realizing that even though they eventually lose the bonsai and think all is lost, it dawns upon them that they’ve gained a priceless love of nature along the way. Then they quit their job and move to the mountains for a ‘sea change’

Then a few months later, they see the new shoots of the bonsai coming back to life, and they feel connected again to their parent… as well as a juicy inheritance.

….. and as Edmund Blackadder would say …
perhaps “with some hot Gypsies thrown in” to the movie
