Nice tree there dude, i like the natural hollow in the base there especially. Nice point of character on it for sure.

I've not grown then much to know what they are like as regard reshooting after shoot loss but surely if it did it before it will again!

Absolutely! Still needs a lot of time, but I can see the potential for sure.

I've seen how profusely these things bud when they are knocked over in the river here during floods, so I'm confident that it will give me plenty to work with. Was still a little disappointed when the others got burned off, but she's still healthy and growing well so I'm happy with that. Let her grow now for a bit then shorten her up a bit more, then I should be able to get some branches growing where I want them.

Wow, it's been over 18 months since I updated this thread :o Just grinding away at developing some branch structure on the top and lower on the left side and also out the back of the tree, letting things grow out then cutting them back. These photos are after its most recent trim back. Finally feel like I'm making a little bit of progress

A short video of the progression of this tree over the last few years. It's really starting to hit its straps in the bonsai mix and putting on some awesome growth now. I'm excited to see where it ends up at the end of this year.
