Re: serissa?
i have just remeasured it is 3 inch at top and 4 and half bottom. when i have removed some medium under tree i will be able to measure at its thickest part which will be 5 inch maybe a bit more...

Re: serissa?
Hi Penny when you remove the medium, I would really appreciate it if you get a closeup photo of the trunk with a measure next to it like a Coke can. You may quite possibly have one of the thickest trunks for a Bonsai in the world. If you were to purchase that tree in Australia I reckon you would be looking at over $450

Re: serissa?
Hi Penny, it is hard to say because we don't know how long it was in the ground for. That growth looks like about 10 years in the ground but all in all as a rough guess I would say about 12-14 years???

Re: serissa?
Penny don't let that discourage you and don't let fear get the better of you. Try and follow Stymie's advice and see what happens. You have a VERY unique specimen there. I would'nt be giving it away that's for sure. Don is very experienced and knows what he is talking about. I honestly don't think 8 degrees is going to be a problem as long as there is no presence of frost. Serissa's are pretty tough.
