Or you could try Treeman if he has any in stock n happy to post. You also have the Ausbonsai Sale day coming up in March someone may have some for sale there.

Chojubai info request
And in other funny stories, you could pick up a chojubai for a mate and then have Treeman say: “Do you have a chojubai?” Me: ‘No - perhaps I should pick one up while I’m here.” T’man: ‘none left’. But that was then - perhaps his stocks have now re-plenished.KIRKY wrote:Or you could try Treeman if he has any in stock n happy to post. Re: Chojubai info request
I've never seen Chojubai at Tien's in the years I've been going there but you never know, he does occasionally get some unusual things in.

He has had them for a few years now. Next time you go just ask him they may be in the grow sheds.

If your really after one I think Tien went to the AB sale day last year. If he’s going this year you could ask him to bring you one.

The emergency repot of your quince worked after I thought I nearly killed it!! Hey, I've just purchased a few small Chojubai from Neil, I'll give you back one of those when I am up in Canberra later in the month. We'll work out when or where or if we miss each other, I'll leave it at the arboretum (with permission). It's only small but hey, it's a start.

Re: Chojubai info request
Specifically for those looking for where to buy Chojubai:
Mark and i recently got some chojus from Shibui, they arrived all well and good. Happily recommend people follow up with Shibui if they are after some and see what his current/ future availability is like.
I read higher up that Treeman does not have any available, but i have a clump from him and the quality of treeman's chojubai is excellent, so if you see him offer any at any time then go ahead with no concerns at all. When it comes to buying from either shibui or Treeman, have no hesitation whatosever.

Re: Chojubai info request
Whilst I am very inexperienced with Chojubai, Neil brought down some to last years Bonsai Northwest show. I picked up 5 and was wanting to try these out. I pretty much left them alone for a good 9 months. I only recent got stuck into them and gave them an initial styling. Very easy to wire and bend at this stage. I find they are very strong growers and can really push growth quite quickly.
Here is the video I did on them. I like the clump style one I came up with and think I should have done that with the rest. Maybe can change in the future if they start to sucker (which they did a lot of).
