Fantastic! Thanks I assume I better wait this winter to remove? Or better September? Any thing in particular I should be careful of? Or the usual precautions?

Has anyone transplanted Leucopogon? I thought they do not transplant well.

Another vote for Leucopogon parviflorus.

shibui, I (very carefully) dug three L. parviflorus last September and they’re all still going fine. Not as big as pureheart’s I don’t think (mine were 30-50 cm tall, trunks 2-4cm), and from less sandy soil. They haven’t pushed much growth, but haven’t lost any either. Fingers crossed. I love them, beaut bark and bud back, but I haven’t found them to be vigorous growers (but I’m no expert!).

Leaves look a bit large for L parviflorus.. At least compared to the ones I've seen.
I've got 5 that are about 1 yr from seed (absolute fluke that they grew) are only a few inches tall.
Test will come at repotting time!
Good luck with the transplant...whatever the plant may be.

You could be right matlea. It’s pretty hard to be sure of the leaf size from the pic. If it’s an average gauge cyclone fence though, I’d reckon the leaves are within the range (can be up to 3cm long). It was habitat, the fissured bark and (mostly) the 3 parallel veins that put it in the likely camp for me. Whatever it is it’s a healthy looking beast!

Here’s the official description (for Vic at least): https://vicflora.rbg.vic.gov.au/flora/t ... 8f39bd01a6

Well done getting Lp going from seed....you’ve enthused me to try some!
Cheers

Yes was trying to gauge the size but it’s hard to do so from the photo, could still be Lp. Thanks.... wanting to try some more from seed, just need to collect some more next time I get a chance... could be a while :(

Just read the leaf size description - ranges from about 10mm to 30mm. So yes you are right leaf size is in the range, I’ve only seen them with the smaller sized leaves.
