Last of the JBP at this stage of development this autumn ...
Playing around a bit with the front of this tree. I'm not sure I'll be repotting it this year though, so probably a moot point. I can chew on it for another year or more.

Alternative front for me. I like seeing into the tree: the trunk, branches and bark.

I'm good with it as well just based on the fact no change in pot angle is required ... win/win!

Autumn clean up for this tree today. I think it’s getting better.

Decandling is underway for me, this is the second tree I got around to yesterday. There is a lot to do.
These shots are for the sake of progression, but actually looking back at the last picture in the previous post, it doesn't look much different after I was finished. This makes sense because essentially all spring growth is cut back to where it was and it's the growth from now that counts towards building ramification. Reset!

I got the "decandling season" show on the road today with this JBP ... one down, and quite a few to go.
It's a busy time of year when you have a few pines on the go!

Autumn work on this pine today.
It's a fun tree to work on because it is quite unique structurally, so it makes you think a bit harder when it comes to design/branch placement.
I think it is looking pretty decent up to this point, in its own quirky way.

I like that some bonsai are not standard triangles and helmets. Shows that nature can provide variety in shape and form. :tu:

Agree with that, always interesting to see something with a silhouette a bit left of centre. Generally you spend a bit longer looking at it I find, if for no other reason than to try and figure out what is going on!

I have a few more requiring work still to come. I actually don't know exactly how many pines I have anymore ... which is probably a good indication I have too many!
