Re: BBQ & Carving Day at my place
Sounds good
Maybe next year, keep us posted with lots of pictures. I can see alot of OOPs's coming up,specialy if the drinking starts first, maybe you should take some home videos, they may make alot of money on the funniest videos.
Thanks for the invitaion!

G'day all...
Only 2 days to go until Skips spectacular carving workshop and BBQ kicks off. If you have ever wanted to learn how to carve and make it look realistic then this is your chance!
Check out the work on the following bonsai from Skips album;

If your keen to come along PM Skippy and he will send you the details.
See you Sunday,
Steven

Thanks Skippy!!!!
Hi guys, just wanted to say thanks to Skippy for the Carving day today. Skippy and his wife were extremely hospitable. There was a good turnout and I think I speak for all who were there when I say we had a great time. It was so nice to meet some of the faces from the forum. I did'nt expect to see so many people working with grinders all at once (there were woodchips flying everywhere). Also, thanks to Steven because without this forum, such events would never have taken place.!!

Re: BBQ & Carving Day at my place
What a fantastic day!
Skippy's signature states;
We started the day watching Skip teach Skip Jnr the finer points of carving BIG stock; Then the power tools came out. At one stage there were no less than 8 high speed cutting implements buzzing and whizzing on bonsai of all species, shapes and sizes. The smell of fresh sawdust in the air added to the atmosphere nicely. JayC was entrusted to work on one of Skip's little Junipers; And there was plenty of time to chat with mates and check out Skips rather large collection. Then the BBQ was cranked up and our host and his beautiful wife put on a marvelous spread; Thanks SO much Chris and Rita for opening up your home and making us all feel so welcome. To everyone who attended, thanks for coming along and helping make it such a great day. I learnt a lot and had great fun carving some of my bonsai.
Regards,
Steven
P.S. If you ever get a chance to try MelaQuins chocolate and beet-root cake, do not hesitate! It's delicious!
