Sammy D have you thought about advertising for a house sitter? Aussie Housesitters is free to advertise on.I have sat for them and for Mindahome in the past...but am taking this year off sitting to get my garden right.

The hot days just keep coming.
For the last 6 years these trees have managed in full sun all year round but this year I finally got tired of keeping water up to them and have put up some shadecloth over another section.

At least this week it is not hot an really dry. We seem to be getting Brisbane weather - hot with an evening thunderstorm each day this week.

Between the sun and the possum, the possum is doing more damage so far. It is extra hot today though. The crepe Myrtle seems to show the first sign of heat stress usually as it’s in a small dark ceramic pot with very free draining mix. It has done well this week. I have some extremely pot bound ficus Benjamina topiaries in the front yard that turned black and dropped most leaves. They’re sprouting again only days later after daily drenching but they are not part of the future design of our front yard and I am looking to air layer them when it’s less than 35 degrees!
