We are truely blessed to have Watto as our President his inspiration and enthusiasm keeps us all motivated. :D
We are also very lucky to have ausbonsai.com where all Bonsai people can share and learn.
We had visitors from Sydney and Canberra that had learned of the Exhibition from this site.
Again thank you for allowing all this to happen. ;)

To the Members and Office Bearers of the Goulburn Bonsai Society,

Congratulation on planning, implementing and pulling off such a high class exhibition! I'm sorry that I could not see it in person and share the experience with you all.

I can only begin to imagine the hardship that you and other regional areas have had to overcome in recent years. Your dedication through adversity to our art and the quality of your bonsai is a credit to you all. Not only have you kept your tree's alive during drought, they are thriving and so is the Goulburn Bonsai Society. You should all be very proud of your accomplishments.

I too am proud that AusBonsai could play a small roll in assisting with the publicity of your event as this is one of the core purposes of our forum.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all the recently implemented mission of AusBonsai;
To facilitate a friendly, inviting forum which enhances the development of Bonsai and its practitioners, links the Bonsai community and provides a central comprehensive reference of bonsai from an Australian point of view.
From the involvement of us all, we will make this mission a reality.

Regards,
Steven

Hey Watto, thanks for organising a great show. I was there and was impressed with the quality of the trees. Sure was cold though.....about 9 degrees I think.....but nothing a hot pie from the local bakery could'nt cure.!!! Lamb curry - Yum!! I thought the one standout was the fact that every tree had a card with all the details like........ age, species, training years and so forth. This is something that I don't always see at a Bonsai Ehxibition but I believe should be mandatory. By the way, can you tell us which tree won the competition??? Would'nt be surprised if it was that large Hawthorn near the doorway.

Hi Jester,

Thanks for your kind words

The winner this year which Watto may have a pic to post ( nudge,nudge ) was the corky bark elm on the right hand side ( tree number six I believe) that stole the honors. The corky bark elm on the left hand side won the Presidents Award. Bit of a corky bark elm fest really but both very deserving winners.

A big thank you to all who graced us with your presence and made the show so great for us and you are all invited back next year....mark your calendars October Long Weekend - Goulburn Bonsai Exhibition.

Ad.
