Did you remove the top foliage to balance the health of the tree or purely to push it's development?
Hi Bretts the tree was lifted with all the roots ,not dug and severed roots . I trimmed the roots then removed the top to balance the tree and feed the shoots or progress development .Some guru's say dont reduce more the 20% others say 50% i have sucessfully removed up to 80% on MANY as long as the roots dont overpower the growth . Exactly the same way a chop top regenerates i could have cut this tree down to the bottom branch and i will continue to grow . "Stall" maybe but depends on the aftercare" POWERFEED " every 2 weeks . I probably wont get to touch this tree for another season as i have well over 500 pines to cut , chop and hack but i do this on a regular basis most times in plastic pots , Same principal chop the roots chop the top .Cheers
