Here is the bigger brother that I got from the thick air-layers sometime ago. I am aware that the foliage needs trimming to make it look more like a bonsai but. I don't want to waste the flower buds at the moment.

Thanks for the comment Kirky. However, the secondary ramification needs refining. Also either the left or right lower branch needs to be shorten.

Such a nice tree. As for the "problems", well everyone knows somethings have to be sacrificed if we want brilliant flowering/fruit on our Bonsai. That tree is going to look absolutely fantastic when the flowers open. Hope you post another pic when it does (please).

Sure Graeme. It has been stormy over here for the last couple nights. A lot of buds dropped. Hope that they still look good when they open.

Very nice. I'm in Brissie, could you tell me where you got the cutting from? Yamadori?

From a family member. I could give you some when the time comes (usually when they drop their leaves at the end of winter is the best). Pm me the info and we could work things out.

OK. The buds opened a little more and I did some light trimming. I was tempting to cut back the lower right branch but didn't have the courage to do now :shake:
The good thing is the tree didn't get much affected by the storm as I worried.

Now that I looked at the pictures, I think I shouldn't have trimmed it to make more "triangle" shape. It was much more natural before. So sometimes we just overdone things :palm:

Also the cascade brother is near the end of the flowering. I think this is maybe I kept it indoor for too long and this made it drop the flowers sooner??? Anyway, we learn new things every time don't we?

May I ask how long you have been working on them to get to this stage?

HI Kirsty. Sorry I have been busy and did not check the post. I had this one for around 6 years. Yesterday, I just did the wiring for the big brother this spring.
