Mate had exactly the same issue this winter with figs, no idea why?
I have tried dilute lime sulphur in the past with no success, does anybody have any ideas?
As to price, id have to say at least $5,000 ans to the right buyer most likely more but who wants to sell a tree like that!

Yes Kez, It is a complete mystery to me to. I tried lime sulphur to but like you had no effect on the problem. I will not be selling until I get too old to look after it. It is quite a large tree and very heavy . I have lots of trouble repotting it these days. Use to be able to lift it out of the pot but those days are behind me

If that's a realistic price, please tell me this tree is insured...kez wrote: As to price, id have to say at least $5,000 ans to the right buyer most likely more but who wants to sell a tree like that!

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

Re: Early defoliation
Hi bonsai boy
What are those hooks and wire rigs used to pull the branch down? It's on the right side of the picture,
On both this tree and the one behind it.
What are they called?
Thanks

Re: Early defoliation
The "hooks" are stainless steel turnbuckles which are used to pull the branches down . I use this type of rig on branches that are too big or fragile to wire in the normal way. I pull the branch down as far as possible , then attach the turnbuckle in its unscrewed position. Then all you need to do is screw the turnbuckle to pull the branch down as required.
