It can be very hard to chop a big tree down especaily when you have paid hard earned cash for it.
Maybe a better picture and even take it out of the box and clear some soil away from the base so we can get a good look at it from a few different angles.
You could be very rough this time of year. Hmm hang on has it just leafed out. I saw a picture of this a while back and it had leaves then?
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

It is leafing out as we speak. Very vigorous. I am happy to cut it. Just wanting to make sure its the best option.

Trevor from Bonsai Art, Rudi from my club and I discussed the options of this tree in length and this was the best option we came up with. I will put the layer on tomorrow night. :D

Thanks again everyone,

Nice tree Jarrod, but I've gotta admit, I kinda like Bretts' fat little shohin idea. :?

But it has been all about the shohin lately. :)
I really do wish they'd hurry up and grow.

I totally agree Tee, To many Shohins....

I guess that's because a lot of growers around the world and in Australia are getting to old to carry the bigger trees ;) or are to lazy :D

This tree will still only be about 30 - 40 cm high. And it will still look powerful i think.
