Luke,

I'm not a pine expert. I have a few black pines. If this tree were mine, I'd not be aiming for a pot this season. I'd look at an interim container to get the angle right, explore the nebari near the trunk, and reduce roots somewhat. A shallow polly box or shallow box made up from wood etc.

Thanks Andrew, I plan on repotting it in a few days so it won't be in bonsai pot. But I am still trying to locate the right one for when it is ready to go into a bonsai pot.
