Autumn has been abit late but with several cold fronts due in the next few days my garden is turning . A few in colour atm. I'm currently thinning the pines so some are done others are messy I haven't even started the junipers yet

Nice shots Matt. I have had a zelkova in great autumn oranges but have not had the time to take a photo and I think tonight's rain and wind will probably knock most of the leaves off. Tridents have had more intense colour than usual this year too. I'll see what is left tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing some photos. Yeah the wind has knocked some around abit. My garden japanese maples and korean hornbeans havent started yet but i suspect a week of 2-4 coming will get them going

The rain and wind have knocked many of the leaves off the trees that had the best colour so, unfortunately, I can't show you the best of this year but here are a few taken yesterday.
This zelkova had the best colour ever.... the day before Matt has mentioned that the Japanese maples colour later than the others. Mine have just started to show some colour. As usual, some are earlier than others.
This one just in a nursery pot but great colour.
One in a bonsai pot just starting to turn. Chinese elms are starting to change as well. Note the one on the right is fully coloured but the one on the left is still fully green. The leaves on another just went brown and fell. This gingko has only just started to colour so the rain did not knock the leaves off. It should get even more golden in the next few days. Finally, some pics of the nursery and some potted weeping maples.

I am getting flowers on my Crab apple, so I guess, it thinks it is spring 2014. I never had this before...but if I have to guess this a wrong time for it to flower.
The last one I think is on the right truck and though not sure what it is...it has lots of tiny berries on the sacrifice part of the tree.

We regularly get trees that flower out of season Neli. Mostly nothing comes of it, just a bit of wasted energy. Not sure what causes it but I have seen crabapple, wisteria and hawthorn flower in autumn.

Certainly a great year for zelkova colour Boics. I'd say yours has a few days to go to full colour yet.

I agree Shibui but with the weather forecast for the next two days this might be as good as it gets!

P.S. The Quince I got from you have some great colours too but they are still in a grow on stage.

A lovely feast of colour Shibui. LOVE the Ginko, it has some age with a trunk like that. How long have you been working with it and do you have a programme to reduce leaf size as i know it is difficult.

You put my mind at rest...but I have a feeling my trees at this time are in serious confusion, or at least half of them. Some are just budding after total dormancy during the summer...
