Huzzah! Owner just gave his permission for me to dig up the juniper. I've got 10 days while he's away before his saw comes out.

I would firstly clear all the cut branches/rubbish off the top to let some light into the buds and leave it. Dig it on the last day possible. Let it get a bit of sun light into the buds first to strengthen it as much as possible. Your after care will be the most important thing in its survival. I would be spraying the foliage and the trunk with seasol often the help with recovery Just my :2c: worth.

Josh.

Well, I got it. Will start another thread tomorrow about the dig and it subsequent care. Two digs in one weekend, and three massive trees. Awesome Father's Day.

There is every chance you can save this Juniper. It does have some foliage (allbeit very little).

Make sure you plant it in well draining soil, my recommendation would be for a course river sand. I place it in a shaded area and only water sparingly. When watering I would use seasol or powerfeed and also if possible mist the foliage regularly with a weak solution of power feed.

Key to survival here is not to over water as you do not have all that much foliage and run the risk of root rot if the soils remains wet.

cheers,

Jeff
