When I saw this tree I was immediately reminded of the tree in the following article - very similar trunkline! Just something that might give you an idea where this tree can go, will be a lot smaller, but hey :)

I had some time to myself on Sat arvo. My daughter had a birthday party so I took the opportunity to try some thing.

I forgot to put the measuring container in the finished photo. The tree stands 200mm from the soil to the tip...

It probably needs some time to recover. It'll need to fill out a bit more and hopefully you can get some new growth closer to the trunk. You my have more ideas soon, but it needs time to do its job now, so if leave it for a while.
