I'm in. Mattock, axe, spade, bush saw, secateurs, brandy, bandages.... I'm assuming these are the thornless variety of hawthorns, and that Goulburn will be warm, sunny and dry underfoot as it usually is in winter. Hmm.

Hi Gavin,

Do you need a lift? I have an empty van ready to fill up.

Are we restricted to hawthorn only. What other species maybe there.

You can dig hawthorn or hawthorn and if you don't like hawthorn you can dig hawthorn ha ha ha. Seriously it is hawthorn only. All those things mentioned Gavin will be needed, and yes they do have thorns but careful digging will result in no injuries.
The forecast is for a warm day so water to spray roots will be needed as well as a hat for your protection.

Just Got a brand spanking maddock and a bag of diatomite today.
I'm also bringing a large spray bottle with extra water and some old sheets to wrap the rootball in. also branch cutters and a saw.
Am I forgetting anything ?
What sort of aftercare are you guys planning I'm thinking about leaving the roots submerged in water for a day or 2 giving me some time to organise some trainning boxs. Potting up in diatomite zeolight pumice mix and leaving in the shade.
