what time of year would be good to remove one of the trunks?

also any ideas on what i could use instead of raffia to bend the trunk? i cant find any where to buy raffia in my town. ebay has it for about $40 thats a bloody joke.

Get yourself a hula skirt. Ryan Neil says this is the best raffia. Strange, I know. Just make sure it's real raffia instead of cheap plastic. Some people have also used bicycle inner tubes with good results. Peter Tea says they use plastic rope at Aichi-en.

ive been told to use bike tubes before. ive got a few lying around so i might try that for now. got my self a new juniper to day to start over. now i know how to look after them better and know what i can expect from the plant. they dont bud back on old wood! thanx for the reply too.
