Not sure what drugs you are taking Lisa - I count 9 trees. And I think it looks better re arranged Ian - top job
Nothing worthwhile in the way of drugs, I'm afraid, but I do need better glasses. OK, I found the little additional babes. Still not happy -- there is no good transition from the very tall trees to the tiny ones, and not enough variation in the spacing between the tall trees. Funny thing, I'm used to good stuff from you, Alpine, and this setting doesn't quite reach your usual standard. Well, it's just my opinion, and as you said, one can't please everyone.
Best wishes,

Lisa

Hi Boics , English elms are a great species that keeps you busy during the growing season .

Hi Sabamiki , it had 7 originally and quite a few suckers .As suggested at the meeting i retained 3 of the suckers and no doubt it will throw a few more . I could remove them and add some slightly larger tree's but the discussion was on the progression from where i was , very untidy to an 11 group planting .

Hi Meagi , mate everything is for sale at a price . Cheers

Hi LLK , this would have to be the hardest group to photograph 1 dimension is very hard , as from any angle the camera most certainly doesn't do it justice .If i haven't stuffed it up i will take a couple more pics on another angle that a member pointed out at our meeting . From most positions all tree's are seen however it doesn't work with the camera .I have no standards , i hope i don't have to live up too . Still an apprentice hacker and chopper .Blame the photographer .

Cheers All . Alpine

Hi Barry1 , mate its had very little work done on it , basically development of the root mass and branch placement only .Now it will polish up and reveal its true beauty over the next 1-2 growing seasons . The hardest issue is trying to find uniform trunks with similar movement and character all at the same time . From memory i had about 25 trunks to choose from and only 7 made the grade .

This may be a good subject for the 3D photo-compostite thingy that some people can do (not me!)
I think it's not too bad!

Hi Gordond , mate pics are almost impossible to critique . I have seen a member take a pic with a 3d camera and there is no comparison to this type of pic , just need the equipment to view it then . That's why i don't critique from pics .

Hi Alpine,
Well, crazy me, I like the side view better than the front! More natural. (Don't pay any attention.)
Yes, photos can be such a pain, when compared with the real thing, but photos is all we've got here... :(
Best wishes,

Hi LLK , Not crazy , this has several fronts .This front you refer to was exactly as a female member of our club suggested .If i hang onto it it will be rotated the 15 or so degree's to use the feature of the rock and this very position . Sometimes i don't photograph to true front as it can't be shown for its natural look from a lens . Need some photography lessons for sure .

Hi alpine

I really like the compressed look in the second pic. Photos are hard to show the true spirit and story of a forrest setting.

Well done mate.
