hello everyone,
hope you all enjoyed the show,
i myself enjoyed it although i thought last year was a tinny little bit better, anyway it is just awsome to have these events for all reasons.
can some one please help me, i had purchased a few trees and i am trying to find out what the bonsai artist name is. he was an asian of some sort(japanese or chinese), sorry if that sounds a little rude not trying to be, so i was told that he had just passed away, maybe last year or early this year, his trees are mostly elm trees with rocks or dead wood. Mr Moho or something sounds close. please if any one can help on this. :fc: :fc: :fc:

kind regards.

I'd like to say thank you to all the organizers n vendors for this weekend.

It was my first to the expo and there were some great display trees as well as bonsai related materials for sale.

Whilst i did walk away with 1 tree and several items, i was hoping to splurge a little more as i had only spent one tenth of what i had brought in.. a little disappointing considering the level of talent here and waiting since Feb to stock up.

None the less i enjoyed the day very much and very happy with my purchase.. :tu: as im sure there were many content visitors

I believe the artist is Mr Hong Lin who passed away about one and a half years ago.

Motley75, I am glad to hear that you are a regular at this event. It can be difficult to balance what should be shown.
It is nice to see some trees which you get to know well but we try to avoid showing the same trees all the time. Many of our members also exhibited at the AABC convention earlier in the year and it pleased me to see that it was not a duplicate of that display, I think 4 trees were in both exhibits.

Well I too dropped by and thought it was fantastic.
Not as many trees for sale as I had hoped but you can't please everyone!
I picked up some tools a tree a pot and accessories.

Loved the view and quality of what was on display.
Some real inspiring stuff and being my first proper show I was blown away by the calibre of the trees.
Truly amazing. The setup was fantastic as well with all trees beautifully displayed.

Thanks BSV for putting this on!

There have been quite a few captivating radiata pines at the shows over the years. But this radiata must be my most favourite. So very stately and elegant.

Perfect all around 360 degrees. Different to all most of Japanese pines (from Japan), we can see "inside" the branches, yet I feel that the foliage are so balanced with the structure of the tree.

This pine is on the left-wing as you walk in, in front of it is a little azalea.

Great effort by the Society. The logistics of moving such large trees around take a lot of efforts.

Regards.

hi Gerard,

thank you very much for the name drop, just to let you know that the show was fantastic and iam not saying anything negative, the trees that were displayed i thought were amazing, maybe i should have said that the sales section for me was more satisfying last year, although i also thought that it was very exciting to see much larger trees for sale at very reasonable pricings.
all in all the complete exhibition was great and i srtongly believe that BSV should have another before the year ends. i dont think that there are enough of these events close to the northern area. I think that a perfect venue for that side of town would be at the whittlesea council, there are great size rooms and ample parking spaces, with a little brain storming this really could happen. maybe get some very nice and willing small business owners to be sponsers i for one would be happy to be the first. so so many ways to raise money for such events to happen. you need to push boundries to make success, and i love pushing boundries. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

kind regards

Yep I stopped by too, loved it.
Being pretty new to shaping my own trees, and not just doing maintenance work on stuff my old man has had for a while, i was really inspired by some of the big stuff that was on display.
Congrats to all involved.
