I love the look of the quinquenervia, quickly becoming one of my favorites Love your work Squizz, its definatley turning into something great

The latest pic shows a lot of improvement. There are now two distinct groups with developing harmony. It reminds me of a cleared track of land that has had trees planted all in the same year. They are all more or less the same size. If you want a more natural look, then I think you might need to add a few thicker trunks in the right group. I look forward to see this one progress.

How is the spring treating this one squizzy? Can we get an update?

Thanks for the interest lack hand. Probably a bit weed infested but here you go. I should really do some work to this but just don't have the time as business is absolutely booming at the moment.

No issue now but I'd assume you may wish to lower the foliage line a little at some stage?

I agree boics. Needs a haircut for sure. I cut back my fused Mel quin a few weeks ago and it's showing signs of strong back budding so this group will probably get the same treatment.

perhaps at re-pot you could use a slightly larger oval pot and have the whole composition off center to the right and lower the left grouping a little to make the larger trees in the right group even more dominant

Thanks for all the input on this group. All good advice and all making me think about what I can do to improve it. I like the idea of spreading the group out and possibly adding more.

I have taken the plunge and cut this back hard. lets hope it pops out some new growth.

Interested in the fused group you have there. I had mine (M. linearfolia) bundled up in grafting tape for about 9 months. They grafted in places, but for most of it they formed some decent paperbark which probably kept them from fusing! Have re-wrapped my lot after stripping sections of the bark back to the cambium and hoping that does the job. Having been wrapped together for a while it provided nice flat sections to indicate what sections of bark needed to go. Be interested to see your update when you unwrap that trunk - the shape looks great so fingers crossed it works out for you!
