People in our club who don't have a lot of trees have been using it for sometime and I haven't heard of any problems. However when I saw some it was very fine, even the zeolite is quite small. I don't use it, if you have a large number of trees it works out quite expensive and I think it would be to fine for most of my trees, perhaps ok for minis.

Kingston at vineyard still stocks the same mix, except he gets it made by grange growing solutions instead.

Anyone know where to buy the Debco Bonsai mix in the Brisbane area? The owners weren't too helpful in that aspect.

I am with Chris H...Had the same experience with the roots all growing around the outside of the pot when using Debco Plugger.
I have now changed to Pumice mixed with some Diatomite, so far so good!!

Cheers Brendan.

Ray Nesci has a good mix too, if you do not want to bugger around with your own and if so desired you can add a few ingredients of your own anyway

Disclaimer, I have NO monetary gain from saying this, but the bloke can grow anything, saw a little banksia out there on Sunday and the flower(seed pod)was bigger then the tree itself.

This mix is now made to the same formula by Scotts Australia. Product item # 684089.
I buy it by the pallet, 60 bags and it works out very reasonable for our club members.

Alan, is it the same mix?? I have used the Debco for years, bought up all the bags I could find once I heard they had sold to Scotts. So I am interested to know have you tried the Scotts personally, and seen it is the same? I did pick up a bag of something labeled bonsai mix from the green shed, I honestly can't remember if it was Scotts but it was all fines and powdery rubbish. I took it back. Useless for bonsai, so very keen to hear your findings.
Cheers
Kirky

Is there a retail name for the product?

Yes the mix is exactly the same.
It goes by the name of Debco Plugger Bonsai Mix with Scotts. Were on our 3rd pallet from Scotts. The first 2 loads were in Debco Plugger bags and the last lot were in plain bags but it is still the same formula and is the same mix.
