Hey OV no pressure but you can put dibs on the plum now if you like it and not pay/get until spring when it shows good signs of life. ;)

Hi Guys,

To clarify the only ones left at the moment is the large olive forest, the privet and the two plums. I will head out again soon to see if I can find some more small olives.

I can also get some LARGE olives if anyone is interested.

Hey Brett any idea what the cost of postage on the privet would be? Presuming it is still available, I am in Lismore region - postcode 2477. Not sure how large or heavy it is from pic.

I have a source for another rare species; Celtis sinensis , if you are interested in a trade. We do not seem to get privets or olives up this way...

I remember when living in Sydney, before I took an interest in bonsai, I spent numerous weekends cutting down and poisoning privet. Even when painting round up on the freshly cut stump they would often shoot. To think the number of wonderfully malformed stumps we wasted after years of cutting back and regrowth. :palm: Eventually we found the best way to kill them way to bury them in about 4 foot of mulch and rot them out.

I am also interested if you harvest some more olives for purchase or trade.

Sorry Guys been away for a bit.

BE, I am not sure I would recommend posting the privet now or in the near future. Come spring any roots would not be enough to hold the the soil and uncovering fresh roots to post without the soil might just send the tree over the hill.

What might be a better plan is that I collect a tree for you and send it straight in the post, bare rooted. For a tree the size of the privet I am guessing postage would not be that expensive. Maybe $20-30

Agrovl, The plums are gone but I could do a similar deal for you. But you will need to give me a day or so until I can sought out any details and go collecting again.

Hey Brett.

I might have found a source of small leaf privet locally through Lismore Bonsai club, someone who is keen to trade for a celtis :tu: , so I will see what comes of that for now.

Cheers
