That just goes to show how subtle I am... But seriously, if you open Lisa's final photo, then click the 'next' and 'back' arrows (→ and ←) you should be able to flip back and forth between the images to see the differences.

Lisa, firstly, thanks for taking the pictures. Second, thanks for taking the time to upload them to the forum for me.

Also, thanks for everyone's comments.

My plan is to tilt the tree a little, as Brian suggested, mainly to disguise the large left root a little more. I will adjust the foliage accordingly to suit the new angle.

From here I will refine the foliage (I will post a pic when it is done). Some branches need thinning out, others need shortening. Small branches need wiring and better placement.

I will think about the direction i wish to take with the carving. I will use the stub left from the branch I removed to create a jin and incorporate a shari down the trunk to include some of the old scars where the previous owner removed branches. This will be done in spring. I will post another pic once that is done.

I wouldn't have missed this demo for the world. Has anyone ever seen, or heard of, a public Hinoki demo, here or overseas? I haven't. This species is far from easy to work with, generally, and one doesn't see all that many bonsai specimens anywhere. So, top class work on a Hinoki this size and age is something unique.
With time, the natural, beautiful layering of the foliage should make this tree yet more outstanding.

I'll post some more pics of the Weston Creek Bnsai Group show when I've processed them, hoping you don't get tired of it all.
