You have not gone for the broom, good, there is too much movement for it. What you should have done with the chop.
Is more to the side and slanting ,or sloping what ever you prefer to call it.

So that the taper starts flat cut lead to multiple shoots at the same level and cause swelling at that point. Which then have to be thinned and will not allow the taper which is desirable in our trees.

Yes i took your advice with the broom that it needed a straight trunk and due to the angles already i decided informal would be best and i believe it will make a nice informal (if i can do it right :lol: )

I will try to clean the cut up to be more of a slope to go with the taper shoot near the top.
