Tonight ABC news and weather

Post by Grant Bowie »

Hi all,

If everything goes to plan the local ABC in Canberra will be doing a "Live Cross" for the weather from the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia tonight at 7.25pm.

It should help with our local profile!

Hope someone taped this. Asked my husband to put it on ABC, and he obliged, but it was the Queensland version - no NBPC :(

Hi all,

It was only the local ABC here in Canberra. It went off without a hitch and went to air on time.

We taped it to a DVD hard drive; now I just have to learn how to transfer it to a DVD, then download onto Youtube. Leigh will help with that.

It was a really good segment and he got in that we are part of the National Arboretum Canberra, moving to a bigger site in 18 months or so and that we are open 7 days. With the usual banter between the weatherman and the newscaster it came off really well. They chose to shoot through and under a Callistemon and he was standing beside my big Taxodium group; explaining that it was started in 1974 and was only 1 meter tall whereas in the wild they could be 60 or 70 meters tall. There were lots of bonsai in the background as well.

All in all a very worthwhile exercise.
