Some sort of fungus on fig?

Post by Reece »

Hi all....

I pulled a weed out of my root over rock little ruby today and noticed that there is some sort of fungus growing around the base of the rock. It's almost like a fluro yellow colour.

It's not that easy to see in the pics.

Is this detrimental to the tree? If so what should I use and do you think I should repot it to check if it goes deeper?

Thanks in advance.

Reece.

It's probably some kind of snow mould growing on the organic matter in the mix. The mix is probably at fault. I would remove the plant, blast the roots clean and repot into a better drained mix.
