Large Privet

Post by Raniformis »

Big old privet I dug towards the end of autumn. It's hard to find big stumps like this so I'm happy to have stumbled across this one.

Is someone missing part of a hedge?

I almost had a good one that construction workers had dug up. But someone had completely ring barked it and cut halfway through the trunk. :palm:

You can make that pretty decent within a couple years with some carving and branch development.

Haha, if only we could  This one came from a house demo down the road, had to dig it myself though.

I'm hearing you, most privet seem to be all suckers, it's a pity someone destroyed it on you. Last year I had my eye an old azalea that was about 2' tall with a good 2" thick trunk and the house got demo'd before I got to it. Could have cried.

Yeah the carved privet look awesome, not sure where I collected these pics so cant credit the creator but I'm aiming for something like this.
