Japanese Box
This was started in 2011 in a comp that was run here. Eight years later and it is still going, although it now stands about 22cm tall so the description of shohin could be argued by some.
As there are a few competitions going at the moment I thought it appropriate to show what can be achieved just by having a go in comps.

G'day Watto ,
Thats a nice box. I have a few going at the moment and hopefully they will turn out something like that in a few years.
Cheers

Great little tree Watto.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: Japanese Box
An update on this shohin buxus.
Its been on a journey since it was started in a shohin comp 10 years ago. Today it was time for a repot and I decided that new shoes may be appropriate. Not that I didn't like the Jenny Davis pot it was in, not at all I love that pot but sometimes a change is as good as a holiday.
The trunk has thickened up and the tree is still 22 cm tall (still shohin to me) and the slightly smaller pot emphasises the trunk in my opinion. The foliage is currently a yellow/orange colour and that is standard winter colour here and it should "green up" in the coming weeks.
I like it and I hope you enjoy it too.
