Hey mate,
Is that really the same tree as in the link there? if so it has fattened up substantially!! What are you feeding it?
My only thoughts on your styling is that there appears to be a bar branch, which over time will cause that area of the trunk to swell and look ugly. but bar branches also make trees look dis-jointed and it interrupts the flow of the viewers eye( ). Maybe talk to some more experienced members at your club and get some better advice. I'm only new to bonsai, but I have read a heap on the subject , and I know bar branches are frowned upon. Otherwise, keep up the enthusiasm, you can't learn if you don't try

hey mate, yeah that is the same tree and i dont feed it, just abit of seasol every now and then, just transfered it to a 200mm pot and yeah virtually a year later that growth was all natural.
Im pretty sure they are bar branches and i had advice on taking the bottom left hand branch off in pic 1 which i was told should help with the problems that bar branches create, but for the time being and untill i take it to the next meeting it can stay as is. So i have taken that into account, i really just wanted something to style haha.
Cheers Pat
P>S thanks for all the feed back you give me

Here is a my first attempt at a virt.
Due to the bar branching on this tree i wanted to see how it would look with on of the banches taken off.
Wat is your opinions?
