Re: [hugh Grant] Ligustrum sp. 2
My Final submission for this tree
Was recently potted into this unique pot. The future:
will continue to ramify and thin out as time goes on but im pretty happy with its refinement thus far.

Yes, I was never really that comfortable with the previous falling out of the pot look.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Wow mate ... what an awesome tree and solid work . It just goes to show what you can do with a tree. Hopefully with posts like these other people can take a bonsai or find a yamadori turn it upside down and make something awesome from it .
Think outside the box hey !!!
Take that tree you dont know what to do with and do a handstand !!!!
Thanks for sharing

Re: [hugh Grant] Ligustrum sp. 2
Thanks guys! this tree has always been an experimental piece working with the boundaries of line and balance. this new stage is moving towards a more subtle play with those dynamics, i have plans though to rework the foliage into something rather interesting in the future, soon we will see.

Hi Hugh,
Just read this post of yours. What awesome foresight, I'm amazed that you've turned what most people would do, ie create a cascade into the reverse, just awesome and loving it. Great vision. Fantastic
Cheers RodM
