{Deceased}[KCPOOLE] Juniper sp?

Post by kcpoole »

Species = Juniper (variety unknown)
Size = 30Cm
Source = Collected Sept 2012,
Cost = Nil

Collected from a garden bed being removed.
Lots of trees were collected at the time and have recovered well.

This particular one has not a lot of foliage but should have a great live vein we can expose and the trunk should thus have some nice deadwood to show off. Large Jin will probably be created at the end of the trunk .

Have no idea as yet as to what the roots are like, but at this stage can only assuem the pot it wil be in at the end of the comp, will be larger than the final one, which it will not be potted into for a good few years yet.

Had some time today to have a little look see, and make a few decisions as to the direction to take.
Tilting to the left to drop the broken end and also to the back to oen the view of the branching from underneath
The "front" branch will be Jinned and thus open up the inner branch which has the most foliage on it too.

The tree has been wired and back on the bench.
Fertilized and in full sun.

Plan will be to carve, clean and preserve ( lime sulphur) all the deadwood and Jins over winter, and then repot in spring

Has virtually stopped in its tracks for some reason which I have no idea.
the one next to it is powering along, but this one just sitting there sulking.

I have moved it today to a more sheltered bench to see if it likes that.

Sad to say this one has gone to the Bonsai cemetary.
have no idea why, but after pulling it out and looking the roots they were very sparse :lost: :palm: :crybye:

Must not have recovered much after collection and using stored energy!
